What we do... is who we are

Troy Nadeau, Owner

Troy, with his creativity and design skills, has been involved in woodworking since his early teenage years.  Whether it was helping his dad build a new deck or shop class in school, he has been working with his hands for quite sometime.  In High School Troy enrolled in a local Vocational program for Architectural Design, which is where he learned CAD and the use of raw materials for designing structures.

In 2020, during COVID, Troy built his wife a flower box, applied a finish to the wood, placed it in the front yard to dry.  Less than 20 minutes later, a passerby asked if it was for sale, and 83 Woodworks LLC was born. Today, 83 Woodworks LLC manufactures products for National Resellers and small Brick and Mortar retailers, as well as our own retail channels in a 1400 square foot workshop in Saco, Maine.  The business was relocated in September of '24 to accommodate a need for space and larger manufacturing ability, however 83 Woodworks LLC remains a "One Man Show".  Troy still however, loves helping customers with Indoor/Outdoor Furniture, and and CNC services.

Concept Design Build is a process that involves the creation, development, and construction of a project or product. It encompasses the initial idea generation, the design and planning phase, and the actual construction or implementation.

In the concept phase, the main focus is on brainstorming and generating ideas. This involves researching, gathering inspiration, and exploring different possibilities. The goal is to come up with a concept that meets the desired objectives and requirements.

Once the concept is established, the design phase begins. This involves creating detailed plans, drawings, and specifications for the project. It may also involve creating prototypes or mock-ups to test and refine the design.

After the design phase, the build phase begins. This is where the actual construction or implementation of the project takes place. It involves sourcing materials, hiring contractors or builders, and overseeing the construction process. This phase requires careful project management to ensure that the design is executed accurately and efficiently.

Throughout the entire process, it is important to consider factors such as budget, timeline, and feasibility. Regular communication and collaboration between the concept designers, engineers, architects, and builders are crucial to ensure a successful outcome.

Concept Design Build allows for a comprehensive and systematic approach to bringing ideas to life, ensuring that the final product or project meets the desired objectives and requirements.

Concept

In this stage, the initial idea or concept is developed. It involves brainstorming, research, and exploration of different possibilities. The goal is to define the overall vision and objectives of the project. This stage focuses on understanding the problem or need, identifying potential solutions, and creating a concept that addresses those requirements.

Design

Once the concept is established, the design stage begins. This involves creating detailed plans, drawings, or prototypes that outline how the concept will be realized. Design considerations include functionality, aesthetics, materials, and technical specifications. The design stage allows for refinement and iteration, ensuring that the final product or solution meets the desired goals and requirements.

Build

The final stage is the actual construction or implementation of the design. This involves bringing the concept and design to life by physically building or creating the product, structure, or system. It may involve coordinating with contractors, manufacturers, or other stakeholders to ensure that the project is executed according to the design specifications.
